Anyone can drive fast............... But you have to finish to get points.

He has always been fast, but has always made mistakes. He's no rookie now so has no excuses.......... Think Ford need to look at someone with more raw talent next year.

I think he over drives where Loeb is economical and methodical.

You can,t keep making excuses about things not going right for Jari,
You will just have accept that at this point in time there is one exceptional
Driver out there who can drive at about 90% which means not taking big risks
still putting in fastest times or near enough and all he has to do is wait for everyone elsea to make the mistakes.

@whitew

He arguably has more raw talent than most, I think his problem is mental, he doesn't seem to react well to pressure, unfortunately at that level the pressure is significant.

Who would you replace him with? Sordo? Sordo is good on tarmac but nothing special on the loose stuff. Ken Block? Manfred Sthol? Matt Wilson?....I know...too far.

Meh, we keep talking about it and JML isn't improving. I feel that he will be relegated to the "could've been" catagory.

Bump up Mads, keep Petter, there you go. Mads has shown that even though he is young he makes mature choices.

On rough rallies the Fiesta fails, on the other rallies the drivers make mistakes so every single time they have some problems. You can't call that bad luck if it happens over and over again. And you can't say that Citroen are always 'lucky' rather should Ford team has serious issues with the car and the drivers.

Is it confirmed that Latvala will join VW?

"Is it confirmed that Latvala will join VW? "

There are serious rumours in Finnish press that the contract has been signed for 2 years with option for one more. Neither confirmed that, they are suppose to annonce their team in Rally Deutchland, but with Mikkelsen charged for 3rd entry and Ford uncertain future after 2013, there is probably no room for doubt.

latvala said, at the start, that he wasnt going to push hard, and what does he do from the start?....push hard, too hard.

but i cannot see ford continuing with malcom wilson. his cars are fragile and it is just not working out. seem to recollect that when malcom was driving his 6r4, it was always broken too.

That was a stuped mistake latvala made if any thing he wasnt going hard enouf id say he was expceting the front of the car to come out of the rut but too much trottle an the rear kept him in it, but its always silly mistakes he makes the talent an speed is their if he could cut out the f##k ups! 20 somethin secs down on wrong tyres an poor road position isnt bad,

May be if he jumped on the brakes, the disaster wouldn't be that much, he could do reverse and continue losing 15 secs at most, may be, may be... "when the car is turned over there are many roads":). He did the normal thing in this situation - turning left and throttling should continue in his road, but it didn't happen, pity.
