The truth is if BMW had of stuck with Prodrive as a full manufacturer backed car with 2 full time drivers they would have won multiple rally's long ago.

I think everyone on here should go do some research before they mouth off at bmw. Prodrive designed a generic platform for the new regs then went to manufactures to try get backing. Nobody was interested. Eventually prodriive managed to get a deal with mini. The deal was that bm would pay for all of the design, manufacture and testing off the car as well as their first development year. After that the deal was that prodrive got a title sponsor to pay for the running of cars in the wrc. Prodrive failed to get a sponsor and then, because bmw fulfilled their part of the deal and prodrive didnt, things went sour. BMW are not the bad guys here

And Yes guys, Guyfos (above) is spot on

This is exactly the deal that was brokered between Prodrive and Mini, although you have to agree that if you were going to fund a Team and your choice was Mini Team Portugal and Prodrive you would have to choose Prodrive every time

The BMW Board were probably angry at Prodrive and chose Mini Team Portugal to prove a point but this has probably hurt their image rather than helped it with MTP hoping for a Top 10 rather than a win like Prodrive aim for

Maybe they will kiss and make up for 2013 or Prodrive will probably probably call time on the programme
