Jari-Matti Latvala says Ford has to be realistic despite his second place in Germany

Interested to see how JML gets on alongside Ogier next season on tarmac. Suspect Ogier will just edge it, after all he learnt from Loeb who's better than average on a sealed surface.

I have a feeling that the Polo is not going to be as competetive out of the box as some were initially thinking, this may have a influence over which driver signs with VW for 2013 as Team mate to Ogier

I dont think Jari Matti will want to go even further backwards from being able to fight with Citroen for wins, If Loeb does quit Jari Matti could always sign with Citroen, something no one has yet realised, of course there are rumours Citroen could quit if Loeb does

Everything is so up in the air but im sure it will all be ok, Ironically it would be better if Loeb stayed another year to allow Neuville to progress enough to be an A-Team driver for Citroen

I think that whatever happens in the transfer market Solberg will remain at Ford for sure. He has had a pretty good year with Ford, not as good as he had hoped though, he was doing well for a while until he tried to narrow the gap to Loeb

I think Ford have a Good team and maybe Latvala will stay at Ford afterall, If Loeb stays at Citroen with Hirvonnen as team mate and VW sign Mikklesen as 2nd driver to Ogier and not 3rd driver - after all just look at the Germany Result, 6th and 7th for VW

Latvala and Solberg at Ford, this would give the Sport a much needed steady hand for 2013, and allow Ford and VW to have a Good fight with Citroen. Now Redbull are officially the promoters Ford and others can commit future budgets allowing them to step up to sign / keep drivers like Latvala

Remeber Petter only had a one year deal signed. If he had won at least one rally I would have said it was a sure bet he would be back. But now with his so-so season I am not so sure.

Heck I am not even sure if Ford will be back.

If Solberg and Latvala are together next year in Ford than Ford can farewell from the manufacturers title and even the driver title. Ford needs some reliable drivers like Hirvonen was.
It will be embarrassment for their team if some privateer like Ostberg ends the season in better position than the factory drivers who are allowed all the testing, improved car parts etc.
