WRC » Loeb: This weekend Jari-Matti was best

Sebastien Loeb: You cannot win every time. Jari-Matti was really very fast, he was flying in the stages and so we had no chance

Yes, J-Matti was best and I acknowledge he (Seb) was able to put his hands up to this. However Seb has been best this year (as he has been for the last 8 years) and sadly the WRC is out of J-Matti's reach this year. It gives me no pleasure saying this. Goes without saying, congrats to J-Matti for winning Rally GB.

What impresses me about Loeb (apart from his awesome driving skills) is he doesn't have a huge ego despite 8 drivers championships and is willing to hold up his hands and say the other guy was faster....although he doesn't have to do that very often.

"and only his team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen can mathematically stop him from taking his ninth drivers' title in France next month"

Well, that's a well deserved 9th title for Loeb then.

I feel like Loeb was at 90% the whole weekend. I won't say he gave the win away, but he certainly didn't put up much of a fight. Look how quickly he reeled in solberg

Ford were genuinly faster this one. There is no conspiracy neither from Loeb, Hirvonen or Neuville. They just lost it and Loeb admits that. He didn't feel the need to win here on every price, but that doesn't mean that he could if he wanted to. That doesn't mean anything for his title though, he will have it sooner or later.
