Its possible this was the plan 'the master plan'. He didnt want to win in Rally GB (Wales) so as that he could clinch the WRC in his home country. Smart man.

@shaken. I kinda agree. I don't think he deliberately slowed in gb. JML was on it but if loeb really wanted to win, he would have been closer. And at the end of the day, he didn't want to take risks and at the back of his mind, he knew he could win in France.
