Hardly a successful and decorated career.

He won the World Championship 9 years ago, when Loeb was told by Citroen to slow down and bring the car home.

You don't call 13 rally wins and 1 world title successful

Richard Burns had 10 rally wins and 1 world title do you think he wasn't successful either

Solberg won that title fair and square and his career has been a success and it pisses me off that he could have to end it because these other wasters come in with a load of money behind them and get the drives.
Stop wasting money on these fancy motor homes and service areas and pay drivers who have actually got some talent. What's wrong with a Transit van and a tent the way it used to be with great drivers.

I think this goes to show it wasn't Malcom Wilson that wanted Petter in the team, it was Ford, Ford have gone so by by Petter, Malcolm could have sorted a drive for him but has chosen not to.
A great shame for a series that is already lacking, well everything really.

To be 100% honest, maybe it is time for him to stand aside and let some new talent come through. On the other hand the WRC will be a poorer place without him. I remember being on the stage stop in Wales one year. He couldn't wait to get the window open of the Subaru, and tell us "Man, I was right on the f***ing limit in there!" He wore his heart on his sleeve, and many loved him for it. Look on youtube for him winning the championship. A passion and emotion not seen for the last nine years, that's for sure.

It's not the WRC that is lacking, it's Petter that was lacking. Beaten by Ostberg? That's pathetic.

The only time you knew Petter was in the championship was when he opened his big mouth, otherwise he was hardly noticeable.

All the haters need to shut their mouths and realize that he is a great driver who was stuck with under performing cars thru his career.

He had great success with Subaru when they were competitive, he did more with a privately run old spec Citroen than anyone thought possibe. When he got into the C4 he was challenging for wins. Now back with Ford he had the fiesta which is shown to be an underperformed against the citroens.

I say if he were given a C4 in the current spec he'd be winning rallies.
