I've read rumors that Robert Kubica could be competing in this series full-time next year. If that was to happen it would be a massive boost for the championship to have such a big name and it will be fascinating to see how he would compare with the opposition, particularly on gravel...

IRC is merged with ERC and Eurosport is it's official promoter. IRC interest was very poor this season and combined with that all of the rounds were in Europe there was no point with having 2 European championships with different names.

It looks like a great championship, sensible amalgamation of IRC and ERC, plenty of opportunity for younger drivers to prepare for WRC without the same costs and will give teams and even manufacturers more profile and a staging ground for new cars in serious competition. Eurosports support is vital and think it will prove to be a very successful series. Pity Circuit of Ireland had to withdraw due to lack of funding.
