WRC is a team's motorsport way more than some others, which, for instance, don't ever cease to pretend as being such of.
One will never know what could have been the WRC history without that Daniel Elena's advice for his team mate Seb Loeb to keep competing !
Thus said, I think it depends on how much you are determined to retire or on the contrary. If you only need to hear an opposite opinion in order to make up your mind clear, you will probably be in Loeb's case.
But if you already planned the action, there will be little chances that someone else might change your mind.
I can only regret that in other case, such kind of advice never came (or if it did, it had no impact) to determine someone not to retire.

after Mikko went from Ford to Citroen it highlighted one thing thats was pretty damn obvious, the Ford is much faster, as Mikko could fight for titles with the Ford and win Multiple races, but once he was in the same machinery he was wiped off the floor, Gronholm was loebs biggest test, but saying that the Ford was still at the time likely to be the better car, allthough he has pretty much destroyed Rally as we know it because of his immense domination never seen before to see a talent like this is worth it.

Im really just comparing the last few seasons, and to me it makes loads of sense, because Hirvonen looks as good as Sordo was when he was Loebs team mate(in terms of pace compared to Loeb), but when he was at ford he was able to challenge Loeb for the title, i wouldn't say Hirvonen is past his best either as he isn't what i would call old.

great team, great co-driver, great driver = wins

great team, great co-driver, AMAZING driver = WRC championships.

Whats truly amazing is the number of years that team (car/codriver/driver) combination has dominated WRC across multiple car platforms and rule changes.
