Jari-Matti Latvala: I am sorry for the guys because they prepared the cars brilliantly. I really wanted to give them a points' result

You say that like you've really got something against Latvala there, Fernando.

Nonetheless, you are absolutely correct in pointing out that
a) Ogier is a better driver than Latvala (IMO)
b) Latvala has a reputation for crashing
c) Ogier's going to win the championship - he was the only guy who could hold a candle to Loeb in Monte Carlo!

Also, VW have come into the WRC extremely well prepared with a good (but probably not the best) car and a driver with such talent to worry Loeb when they were team-mates... :)

I have seen the video of Latvalas crash and to be honest it could have happened to anyone. the car jsut went offline on black ice and he caught a wall. huge impact and id say he is very sore after it. Even though it was kinda of a freak incident, unfortunately it is going to have a big impact on his confidence. Based on the VW performance, I would have out money on Latvala for a Sweden win, now i think he will jsut try to drive around. its pity. the guy just cant seem to keep 100% concentration

A lot of his reputation as a crasher comes from the fords weak front end breaking and causing a crash. Jari-Matti did crash a lot, but remember Colin Mcrae and Ari Vatenen anyone?
