Wow That's More like it !!!

At Last a Livery that really looks the business !

Well done to M-Sport, although it is a shame that Qatar didn't renew.

I hope Malcolm can confirm a New Title sponsor for 2014 soon though

He will badly need one as Neither Evans or Hirvonnen bring any Real Money, testament to the commitment of Malcolm Wilson.

I think Ford will be returning to the sport in an official capacity maybe as soon as 2015 anyway so this just needs to keep them going for now

Ford will return officially when they feel they get a proper return on investment. That means proper mainstream coverage. Not 30 mins a night on a niche channel.
One would hope with the better coverage, that big money sponsors will soon be returning to the WRC.

Are Qatar fully gone from the equation. I dont see any sign of the logo on the cars but the service trucks still have Qatar branding. I doubt from business/contractural point of view, they would leave all that brandng there. Especially when the service park is where most on event PR happens. Maybe those trucks will be obscured by huge awnings. Not sure. Anyway, it just seems a bit odd if there is not still Qatar money involved.

Qatar have not renewed their one year deal with M-Sport so yes they have fully gone from the equation. Obviously this is not just bad for M-Sport from a funding point of view but also it will mean Al-Attiyah will be absent from the WRC this year, although I would guess he will still compete in the M.E.R.C.

Malcolm probably has more important things to do in preparation for the 2014 season than get the Branding changed on the Service Trucks for now

For Aldo2654 : Red Bull are obviously very happy to be Main Title sponsor to the VW WRT, after all they have the Top drivers and won both titles last year, this is the sort of Return that sponsors hope for, so I cant see M-Sport steeling RedBull away from VW anytime soon, although its not unheard of for them to sponsor two different Teams, im sure they do that in F1.

Dafydd, I dont entirely agree that branding is not one of the more important things. In the corporate world we live, branding to companies is big business. How often have we seen in the past, drvers with tape over certain brands on their overalls cos their sponsership is over. In mind, there is some Qatar money still there or else its a mistake by some one in M Sport.Plus I doubt Malcom deals with these things anymore.

Anyway, why are we discussing such items. I for one an looking forward to an exciting year. Cant wait to see how the Hyundai will go. VW were making such statements last year that 2013 was about development and 2014 they would chase titles. We all know how that turned out. I suspect in their own mind, Hyundai are expecting more. If it doesnt work out, then the old development line will be used.

The only difference is, Hyundai dont have the calibre of drivers that VW have. If they dont do well it wont be development. It will be cos Oigier at the moment is unbeatable.

Ok, A few answers to a few questions and statements above :

Last but not least the relationship between Ford and M-Sport is for the minute purely Ford assisting M-Sport with the Technology.

I would imagine that M-Sport hold the rights to the Homologation of the Fiesta WRC and not ford, M-Sport is completely owned by Malcolm Wilson and from 1997 until 2012 M-Sport had the contract to Build and Run the works cars for for 15 years for Ford in the WRC. This came with Ford Funding that slowly shrunk in recent years but sponsors like Abu Dhabi stepped in to top the Budget up

In 2012 Ford announced its official withdrawal from the WRC but still work closely with M-Sport and continue to assist with information and development of the cars

Finally, The cars will appear on Monte with the Face lift front end like the R5 Fiesta that was launched last year
