WRC » Meeke happy and delighted with podium

Kris Meeke: It's a great result for us and I really have to thank Yves Matton for the faith that he's shown in me.

Great solid start to the season by Citroen,
Watching Meeke it seemed obvious he was determined to finish & I'm sure that was a priority rather than pushing for a top position (still ended on the podium!), fast but sensible driving for the first (& prob most tricky) event.
If he can post some solid finishes/results in the first part of the season, ....watch him go there after, as this guy has natural speed & can challenge at the front. Ogier has already said that Kris will be his closest challenger this year as they have history together in the junior classes in previous years.
Ostberg too, well done, great drive.
This new Citroen set up has the look of a great team in the making.
Also, great to be able to follow the event properly again due to BT & Motors coverage....well done to both.

Im really glad that Yves decided to give Kris this chance, you know its crazy how Ogier had to fight Kris all the time in the Juniors etc, yet Ogier got his chances and is now World Champion and Kris is only now getting his big chance.

I think Ogier is right about Meeke being his closest rival, I said it a few weeks ago, I think Meeke could outrun his Team mate on a regular basis, although I still think Latvala and Neuville will make Ogier perspire some.....

Finally I think its only fair we don't forget the efforts of Elvyn Evans in the Fiesta, he had a great weekend and no doubt learned loads from this event. Well done on a brilliant 6th place on such a challenging Rally where experience is everything.
