dafydd. there is cutting a corner, and there is taking a short cut. this was deliberately taking a short cut. deserves all he got and more. even vw accept that it was wrong!

Actually he could contest it, cutting is a major part of a Rally and in the Recce the stewards should have but orange Lattice fencing there to preventing crews to think it could be cut on the Rally, This is just poor standards and preparation from the Stewards. If you allow a driver to cut he will. SIMPLE AS THAT !

Colin McRae did the exact same on Rally GB Years ago at the end of the Margam Park Stage, I have also done the same on stages on the RAC at Blenheim Palace and on other International Rallies in places like France. Its ok if the organisers don't want you to cut but they need to put measures in place like on some Tarmac WRC Events

I wouldn't be happy to pay that fine but maybe there is something in the Regulations for 2014 that limits how much you can cut a corner
