Yeah he didn't make it past stage 3, thats a 35000 Euros freshly built engine, I don't think Mikko has really driven the car much since having it built Brand new for him by Mark Solloway back in 2009 or 2010, maybe that's the issue. Not enough use and then the shock of being wound up to 9000 RPM almost constantly

I would imagine that it is quite hard to step into what can only be described as a time machine and do the kind of speeds that Jari Matti was clearly doing flat in Top Gear on those fast Lahti stages

everything would be lights years difference, Engine, brakes, gear changes, suspension, Turbo Lag, the whole thing. Cleary he was enjoying himself though, its a shame that Mikko wasn't doing the Rally officially, it would of been good to compare their times, Jari Matti said back in 2012 that he was doing times in his fathers Escort BDG on sections of stage that Rally Finland had used that were similar to the WRC Car where the stages were fast and weaving rather than slow and technical.

I would just be interested to see if Mikko could pedal his Escort as fast as Latvala had done and how that compared to Latvalas Audi Quattro
