Mitsubishi ace Gigi Galli attended the 2005 Rallyday last Saturday at Castle Combe, where Crash.net Radio caught up with the Italian to grill him on the event, his plans for 2006 and loads, loads more...

Q:
Gigi, How are you finding things here at the Rallyday?

Gigi Galli.
It's amazing how many people there are here. I hope to enjoy [the event] and to show something good with our car.

Q:
Tell us a little bit about Finland - it was pretty dramatic for you, wasn't it?

GG:
It was very, very difficult. We made two mistakes - very big mistakes - and the Saturday accident was very bad. I think we went off at 150kph and the tree was there waiting for us. We were lucky to get away without injuring ourselves. But, anyway, that is rallying.

Q:
Germany is next up, of course. You've been nominated for that event, you must be pleased?

GG:
Germany will be a very, very big challenge for us, because we know it is a very difficult rally. We have to be very careful.

Q:
It will be your first time on asphalt with the car, won't it?

GG:
Yeah, a lot of the time I don't drive the car on the tarmac. It will be very hard. We will see.

Q:
What are your aims for the reminder of the season?

GG:
I think the most important thing is to work very well and hard to develop the car and everything about our team. That is the main goal this season - to be ready for next year.

Q:
Can you tell us what your plans are? You're staying with Mitsubishi in 2006, aren't you?

GG:
Ha ha! I don't know yet, to be honest. But I hope to have the chance to work with Mitsubishi.
