Ford's Petter Solberg has confirmed that a technical failure was not responsible for his off this morning in the opening test in France.

It's easy to be fast. It's a very fine line between fast enough to win and too fast. Petter's hunger for another win tends to drive him to push too fast. I for one would love to see him learn to pace himself, focusing more on finishing in the top three than on winning. He would be much less likely to crash out and consistency is how you win championships, not just being the fastest.
