WRC » Hirvonen: Mexico win not 'a matter of life or death'

Citroen's Mikko Hirvonen is confident he has a good chance of winning Rally Mexico next week, although he doesn't believe he is 'yet at the stage where a win there is a matter of life or death'

The problem you have is that there are very few drivers who can jump into a seat with a Top team like Citroen and potentially win a Rally, Ford have all the Youngsters sewn up, VW have all he Big Guns sewn up and Mini are experimenting with a Finn behind the scenes, oh and Skoda have signed the next star to drive in WRC2, so Mikko is still quite high on Teams lists, Now Loeb is retiring any one of 5 or 6 drivers could win any Rally

Maybe this is why Mikko doesnt feel any pressure, i think he has stepped over the line though and is a little too relaxed, lets hope he smells the coffee and finds his old form for Mexico, maybe Citroen should start experimenting with Meeke, maybe he could get a podium in a works DS3 with some testing and match practice, I really think he could do well
