Stobart Ford's Gigi Gali and Suzuki's Per-Gunnar Andersson have both retired from day two of the Neste Oil Rally Finland after going off the road around two thirds of the way through SS16.
Galli, who had been third overall, 7.4 seconds up on Dani Sordo in P4, was the first victim, when he rolled his Focus RS WRC07 and got stuck in a ditch. Galli and co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini escaped uninjured.
P-G had a similar problem at the same point in Kakaristo 1 and he was also not able to continue, retiring from what was P9.
The drama didn't stop there however, as Mitsubishi's Juha Salo, who had been leading the P-WRC class by 13.1 seconds, rolled out too.
Indeed a number of other drivers' reported they had a scare or two in the test including BP Ford Abu Dhabi's 'third' driver Khalid Al-Qassimi: "I had a big moment in the last section where I was at maximum over a big jump and almost lost it near where Gigi went off," he confirmed.
