Chatsworth set for special WRC bash.

The VK-sponsored Rally Show at Chatsworth will celebrate 30 years of the World Rally Championship for drivers' next year, the organisers announced this week.

The event, which first took place in 2007 and which, like this year, will again take place at the start of the summer, running from June 6-7 2009, intends to honour all the drivers that have taken the crown since Bjorn Waldegard in 1979.

"Chatsworth intends to honour them all, by having on display examples of all the cars used over the 30 years to secure the title," read a statement to the press.

"It is also hoped to have as many of the past World Champions there alongside their cars and, where possible, to have them demonstrating their skills on the special stages during the two-day event.

"Sadly, fate has deprived us of the possibility of having either of the two British World Rally champions - Colin McRae and Richard Burns - at the event but the display and its presentation will reflect their unique contributions to the sport."
