Rallycourse becomes official World Rally yearbook.

Rallycourse is to become the official annual of the World Rally Championship, Crash Media Group has announced ahead of this weekend's Wales Rally GB, the final round on the 2008 calendar.

CMG has published the respected rallying yearbook since 2004, and from the 2008 season onwards the iconic title is to become the official yearbook of the World Rally Championship.

The agreement – signed today in Cardiff with International Sportsworld Communicators (ISC), on the eve of Wales Rally GB – is a multi-year deal that will see the publication reflect the WRC brand and values. The title will continue to be edited by David Evans and published by Crash Media Group, based at Silverstone, Northants.

Rallycourse will remain largely unchanged, but will concentrate solely on the World Rally Championship with the usual mix of spectacular photography, reports, results and statistics, features, technical specifications and, of course, the much-anticipated editor's top ten.

“We are delighted to welcome the Rallycourse title to the WRC licensee portfolio,” commented Simon Long, International Sportsworld Communicators CEO, “and we look forward to a successful partnership.

“For almost three decades Rallycourse has provided rally fans with an authoritative reflection of the World Rally Championship, and we look forward to working with CMG to bring the story of rallying to an ever-wider audience.”

“This is a proud moment for us all at CMG,” added the company's director Bryn Williams. “Rallycourse is a well-respected brand loved throughout rallying, and has a heritage spanning 27 years. The title has been guided through the years by some of the sport's most respected journalists, especially the much-missed David Williams.

“Thanks should also go to Simon Sanderson, our commercial director who has been instrumental in putting this deal together with ISC. He has worked tirelessly and should take much of the credit for making it happen.

“We all look forward to working with ISC in making Rallycourse the successful title it deserves to be. With ISC support, we look forward to reaching a wider audience of rally fans around the world.”
