Days after reaping the benefits of Valentino Rossi's entry into Wales Rally GB, Stobart Motorsport is set for another starring role in a major event this weekend when the annual Race of Champions event takes place at Wembley Stadium.
The team will supply two of its Ford Focus WRCs for the event, which will see a wide range of drivers go head-to-head in identical vehicles around a purpose build circuit created inside the London stadium.
Amongst those due to compete are current WRC title winner Sebastien Loeb, multiple F1 champion Michael Schumacher and retiring World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss.
“It will be fantastic to see our Stobart sponsored cars competing in such a famous place as Wembley Stadium and with so many world motorsport superstars behind the wheel,” Stobart Group CEO Andrew Tinkler said. “After Rally GB last weekend, where MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi was driving for us, we have now got another high profile event to showcase the Stobart brand on a global scale.
“Malcolm Wilson and the M-Sport team have done a great job running our cars all season and now we have an opportunity to have some fun watching two Stobart cars racing each other round the track at the hands of motorsport superstars.”
