Petter Solberg has confirmed that he will use a Citroen Xsara WRC car on the Rally Norway next month, the second round in the 2009 World Rally Championship, which runs from February 11-15.

The Norwegian, who has been left in the lurch following Subaru's decision to axe its WRC team, and who will not compete in Ireland this coming weekend, told his personal website that he still has a lot to do before his home event.

"I can now confirm that we will start Rally Norway in a Citroen Xsara 2006 model," he noted.

"A lot has to be organised before we come to Hamar. Information regarding the team, who will run the car and the sponsors will be announced at a press conference before Rally Norway."

Citroen's works team last used the Xsara WRC in the World Rally Championship in 2006, when Sebastien Loeb took his third drivers' title. Since then the French manufacturer has switched to using the C4 WRC.

Petter's plans beyond Norway have still to be announced, but he has told the official WRC website, that he intends to do all the rounds in this year's series, post-Norway - so eleven in total.
