Per-Gunnar Andersson has retired from Rally Norway following a mechanical problem before SS13.

Andersson, who of course competed with the now disbanded Suzuki World Rally Team last season, was making his debut in the 2009 World Rally Championship this weekend and the early signs were extremely promising.

Indeed the two-time Junior WRC champion was extremely impressive on the opening day, remarkably winning two stages in his privateer Skoda Fabia WRC and running sixth overall at the end of the leg, just 0.1 seconds off Petter Solberg.
