Petter Solberg says he is 'quite happy' with his run to fourth position on the Rally Portugal after a largely trouble-free run in his privately prepared Citroen Xsara WRC.

Although the quicker stages meant he was unable to repeat his podium winning exploits from Cyprus, Solberg was comfortably the quickest independent driver for much of the rally, the former champion even occasionally bothering the top three with his stage times.

With nothing more than a loose bonnet to contend with on his four-year-old Xsara, Solberg was happy to complete another good result, one that moves him up to joint fourth in the standings with his brother Henning.

"The afternoon loop today was really good, and I'm quite happy with the performance this weekend. We knew it would be much tougher than Cyprus, but still I reckon we have done well. We also got more damper-experience and this is good for Argentina.

"We are fourth, and that is not so bad, the three in front are manufacturer-teams, and we are the best privateer. Also, we have three Norwegians in the top six."
