Jari-Matti Latvala has seen his hopes of a podium finish in Argentina come to an end after fuel pressure problems on the first stage of day three.
With Mikko Hirvonen forced to retire on day two, Latvala was carrying the hopes of the Blue Oval into the final day of event and looked set for third place with a comfortable advantage over Petter Solberg behind.
However, his car came to a halt in SS19 with fuel pressure issues and although he eventually got going again, the loss of eight minutes has dropped him well out of contention.
“There's a little jump after a long straight and after we landed we lost the fuel pressure,” Latvala said. “We tried a lot of things with the buttons inside the car then suddenly, when I rebooted the whole system, it started again.”
The Finn now lies down in seventh place.
