Dani Sordo says he is looking to fight at the front on the Acropolis Rally after his disappointing outing last time out in Sardinia.

The Spaniard finished well down the order at the wheel of his Citroen C4 after being beset by mechanical issues during the second and third days, but was still able to bring home vital manufacturers' championship points for Citroen.

Sordo had been well placed for a strong run in Greece last year before a number of punctures hit his challenge, although he still brought home a fifth place finish.

This time around, Sordo insisted he was confident of fighting at the front and said he was keen to again play the team game for Citroen in its battle with Ford for the manufacturers title.

"It will an interesting event because there are so many new stages," he said. "The Acropolis is a rally I enjoy and I believe I can play a front-running role. We were down on luck last year, but we were competitive, so we will try to be consistent and look after our car as best we can.

"My objective is the same as ever, and that is to score as many points as possible to help Citroen increase its lead in the Manufacturers' standings. If that permits me to recover second place in the Drivers' championship from Mikko Hirvonen, then so much the better!"
