Swiss watch brand Edox has become the official timing partner of the World Rally Championship, it has been announced.

ISC, the media and commercial rights holder for the World Rally Championship, confirmed the agreement today.

It is for three and a half years and will see Edox 'support the WRC precision timing and results solution'.

"We're delighted to welcome Edox to our sponsorship portfolio," said ISC CEO, Simon Long. "Edox and the WRC are both leaders in their respective fields and pioneers of technical innovation.

"Timing is vitally important to our sport and the partnership will enable both brands to continue to showcase the very best timing solutions."

Edox, whose name comes from Ancient Greek and signifies 'the hour', was founded in 1884.

Today Edox supports timing solutions in a variety of recognised international sports events. The Edox brand will now be promoted alongside the WRC.
