Conrad Rautenbach believes that he should be in a position to score this weekend on the Neste Oil Rally Finland - assuming all goes well.

Rautenbach, who is currently tenth in the drivers' championship, having notched up eight points, will start the Jyv?skyl?-based event for the sixth time on Thursday - and his second at the wheel of the Citroen C4 WRC.

Last year he managed to finish tenth and having taken points in Greece and Poland, the Citroen Junior Team man will want to make it three top-eight finishes in succession this Sunday, when the ninth round in the 2009 World Rally Championship draws to a close.

"There's nothing that comes close to the feeling you get when you launch a WRC car into the air for 30 or 40 metres," said the Zimbabwean.

"This is a very technical rally that you have to approach with really good pace notes. My objective is to get to the finish and set some good times along the way. If everything goes well, we should be in a good position to score points."

Unlike Rautenbach, Evgeny Novikov meanwhile has never competed on the 1000 Lakes before - although he has still been nominated to score manufacturers' points for Citroen's 'B' team, along with Sebastien Ogier.

"This extremely tricky rally will be a completely new experience for me," Novikov admitted. "Our recent performances have been encouraging.

"I'm beginning to develop a really good feeling with the C4 WRC. Our ambition is to continue the progress we have made by setting some good stage times and getting to the finish without resorting to the SupeRally."
