Kimi is a lot faster than rossi, no doubt, rossi was driving a wrc car and kimi is driving an s2000 fiat. if you haven't seen his drive in killeri i suggest you watch it on youtube. his start was bad, as kankkunen said, maybe bacause he doesn't have kers in the fiat, and he lost a lot of time there. still he was the quickest at that point. no doubt he is one of the greatest talents ever.
