Rally Deutschland looks set to run to a revised route when it makes its return to the World Rally Championship in 2010 - including a stage of nearly 50km in the Baumholder military training area.

The event will be the ninth on the WRC schedule next year having not figured on the calendar in 2009 and will be one of four asphalt events during the course of the year.

While the final route won't be confirmed until the new year, event director Armin Kohl has revealed that the event will again run in three different regions on the three days, with the 48km test in Baumholder set to be the biggest challenge for the competing crews.

"To my knowledge, there is no world championship test that is longer," he told the official WRC website.

"The ADAC Rally Germany is again a three-day event. The first day's ride takes place in the vineyards of the Moselle, the second on the Baumholder military training area and in northern Saarland, while the third returns to the Moselle region and the centre of Trier with the Circus Maximus Super Special stage."

The longest stage in the event had previously run to just over 30km.
