Henning Solberg again took on the role of leading the Stobart Ford team during the 2009 campaign and was rewarded with a top six championship finish.
In all, the elder Solberg managed to score points on eight of the twelve events he contested, with podium finishes coming in both Argentina and Poland – where he finished third.
The undoubted low point of the season came in Cyprus, where Solberg was forced out of the opening day after being involved in a road accident on the way to the opening stage.
As the season wore on, Henning found himself in the middle of an inter-family battle with brother Petter and eventually finished just two points behind in the championship standings.
However, sixth in the standings was enough to see you vote him in the same position in the poll to find the WRC driver of the year.
