Block ready to live WRC dream

Ken Block admits he will be living the dream when he joins the WRC field in 2010
Ken Block admits it will be a dream come true when he joins the World Rally Championship field in Mexico.

Block will also take part in the events in Turkey, Portugal, Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain as part of a seven-event programme at the wheel of an M-Sport prepared Ford Focus entered under the Monster World Rally Team banner.

It will mark the first foray into the WRC for the X-Games star and he admitted that taking his place in the field would be the realisation of a life-long dream.

“When I was growing up, the WRC inspired me to drive a car,” he said. “It looked like the most fun.

“In America the main motorsports on TV were cars that went round in circles or went straight and that didn't inspire me in the way the WRC did. For me this has been a dream since I was a little kid and it is a huge honour to be on the stages with people like Petter [Solberg], Sebastien [Loeb] and now Kimi [Raikkonen]. I can't wait”
