Villagra: I'll be quicker in Jordan

Federico Villagra expects the Jordan Rally to be a 'good' event for him and the Munchi's Ford World Rally Team.
Munchi's Ford World Rally Team man Federico Villagra will be out to step up a gear in Jordan this week, what will be his second outing in the 2010 World Rally Championship.

Villagra finished seventh in Mexico at the start of this month and ran in the top-ten throughout in his Ford Focus RS WRC. However, despite picking up six points, he reckons there is still more to come and now he will be out to prove it having shaken off any rustiness and re-acquainted himself with his Ford.

"We know we can go faster in Jordan because we have had more time in the car and got a good feeling for it again," said Villagra, who finished sixth overall on the Jordan Rally back in 2008 – the last time it was part of the WRC.

"It's a very fast event with some long stages, and this is where we will have to improve our times. The conditions will suit us and we had a good result there the last time so we know we can do well. I think it can be a very good rally for us."

Villagra meanwhile also contested the Rally Argentina a few weeks ago, switching his Ford Focus RS WRC for a Ford Fiesta S2000.

The event featured as the third round of the Intercontinental Rally Championship in addition to counting towards the South American Championship and the Argentinean Rally Championship.

Making his competitive debut in the Fiesta S2000 Villagra eventually finished fifth overall, a result that puts him in second position overall in the Argentinean Rally Championship standings as he seeks to retain his title.
