Loeb top in Jordan shakedown

Sebastien Loeb tops the times in the shakedown for the Jordan Rally, 0.1 seconds up on his team-mate, Dani Sordo and Petter Solberg.
Citroen's Sebastien Loeb led the way on Wednesday morning in the shakedown for the Jordan Rally, the third round in the 2010 World Rally Championship.

Loeb completed the 2.3 kilometre test stage in 1 minute 13.4 seconds, 0.1 seconds up on his team-mate, Dani Sordo and Citroen privateer, Petter Solberg.

"Everything went okay, but the road wasn't very representative of the ones we saw on the recce," Loeb told wrc.com. "Today's road was fast and there was a lot of grip, while the proper stages are much more twisty and slippery. All we did today was check that everything was okay with the car."

Jari-Matti Latvala meanwhile was fourth, 0.2 seconds further back, followed by his BP Ford Abu Dhabi team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen and Sebastien Ogier. Federico Villagra and Matt Wilson rounded out the top eight.

The Jordan Rally now begins 'proper' on Thursday, with SS1, the 15.34 kilometre Rumman Forest test, starting at 11.28 hours local time. The event starts a day earlier than 'normal' WRC rounds so that it will finish on Saturday to coincide with the Islamic holiday.
