Latvala crashes

Jari-Matti Latvala loses over 9 minutes after rolling his Focus RS WRC in SS10 of the Rally of Turkey.

BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team's Jari-Matti Latvala rolled his Focus RS WRC car in the opening test of the Rally of Turkey this morning.

The incident occurred near the start of the 18.17 kilometre-run through Gocbeyli 1, SS10, when he hit a bank on the tarmac section of the mixed surface test. The Finn and his co-driver, Miikka Anttila were both unhurt and managed to get going again, however the off cost them over 9 minutes.

"I went flat out over a crest, I hit a bank and I crashed," Latvala explained. "We will try to get back to service now. The car isn't heavily damaged."

Latvala had begun the second day in sixth place, he has now dropped right outside the top ten.
