M-Sport confirms presence at Chatsworth

BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team stalwart M-Sport confirms its presence at next month's Rally Show at Chatsworth - with New Zealand winner Jari-Matti Latvala set to put a quartet of FST front-runners through their paces...
M-Sport Ltd – the firm chosen by the Ford Motor Company to mastermind its assault on the World Rally Championship every year since 1997 – has announced that it will have a major presence throughout the Rally Show at Chatsworth on 5-6 June.

As Fiesta Sport Trophy UK organisers, M-Sport will have a BP Ford Abu Dhabi Ford Focus RS WRC09, the Monte Carlo Rally-winning Fiesta Super 2000 and the Kick Energy Ford Focus WRC02 that Jonny Greer drove to second place on this year's Malcolm Wilson Rally all on display. BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team star Jari-Matti Latvala will also be in attendance to put the pair of Focus WRCs through their paces around the rally stage at the stately home.

The 2010 Kick Energy Fiesta Sport Trophy UK Championship will likewise be represented through the new Ford Fiesta R2. Spectators will have the opportunity to see some of this year's top FST competitors in action in a non-championship event as representatives from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland battle it out for the FST Nations Cup.

The event will take place over six runs on the stage, with results taken from the total times. After three stages the bottom two competitors will be knocked out, leaving the top two to battle it out over the remaining three stages. All the drivers will get the chance to have a passenger ride with Latvala, and the winner of the FST Nations Cup event will personally drive the Kick Energy Focus WRC around the stage at Chatsworth.

The drivers invited to represent each nation are as follows:

England: Damien Smith – Winner, Pirelli Challenge Rally
Scotland: John Boyd – Currently Second in FST UK Standings
Wales: Elfyn Evans – FST UK Championship Leader
Ireland: Jonny Cunningham – FSC Championship Leader

The visit to Chatsworth comes at a very important time for M-Sport, as Latvala's victory on Rally New Zealand earlier this month was Ford's 75th WRC triumph and places them as the most successful manufacturer in the history of the series.
