7 – Juho Hanninen
Juho Hanninen takes seventh in our top ten, due to his amazing form this season in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge with his Skoda Fabia Super 2000. Hanninen was the class of the field and eventually beat his team-mate and closest rival, Jan Kopecky by 15 points, while Kris Meeke – the 2009 IRC champion, was 23 points adrift in third.
Juho was 'Mr Consistent' and of his eleven IRC rounds – remember only the best seven scores count in the IRC – he finished on the podium on every single one, bar the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium, where he crashed out on the Friday.
Other than that though, it was a pretty perfect year with wins in Argentina, Sardina and on his final event in Scotland, the obvious highs.
He also made two appearances in the World Rally Championship, and while Portugal didn't go to plan, he took the S-WRC victory in Finland, as well as securing two 'senior' WRC points for ninth place overall.
“It was a fantastic finish to the season [to win in Scotland], a great weekend. It's been almost a perfect year and I'd like to thank the team for everything they've done,” said Hanninen.
“You have to be highly concentrated when the competition is in progress, but now I am completely relaxed and I'm enjoying every moment [being the 2010 IRC champion],” he added.
