NASCAR on Raikkonen's radar?

Could a move to Ford for the 2011 WRC season also see Kimi Raikkonen try his hand at NASCAR
Reports in Finland have suggested that Kimi Raikkonen could move from Citroen to Ford for the 2011 World Rally Championship season in a move that could also see him take part in a number of NASCAR events.

Raikkonen switched to the WRC this season after his Ferrari F1 contract was brought to an early end, with the Finn going on to finish tenth in the championship standings for the Citroen Junior Team.

However, there has been no progress between Citroen and Raikkonen in terms of agreeing a deal for 2011 which in turn has led to the Finn being linked to a move elsewhere.

One option would be the Monster World Rally Team, which debuted in the series this year running a Ford Focus WRC for Ken Block.

According to the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, Monster could well be Raikkonen's destination for the new season with a deal being discussed which would also give him the chance to try his hand at NASCAR.

"Funding for the project is coming especially from the United States,” the 'paper said, “and Raikkonen might get an opportunity to also race in a few NASCAR events in North America."

Should Raikkonen agree a deal for 2011 that includes NASCAR, he would get the chance to do battle against former McLaren team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya, who finished 17th in the Sprint Cup standings this year with the Earnhardt Ganassi team.

@James Do you know anything about motorsport, very easy to post a throw away remark like that. Matt has hat 5 years+ in a WRC car and produced nothing, kimi has struggled and crashed a lot but there is genuine talent there, oh and he did win the F1 world championship. I doubt Wilson will have a program next year unless stobart want to flush more sponsorship money down the drain, it's hardly raising their profile.
