FERM Power Tools will back a new entry in this year's World Rally Championship, having agreed terms with Malcolm Wilson's renowned M-Sport operation to run one of the new Ford Fiesta RS WRCs.

Dutchman Dennis Kuipers will pilot the new car as the team makes its debut at next month's Rally Sweden, with FERM Power Tools World Rally Team registered with the FIA as an official team competing for Manufacturers' Championship honours.

"It is a real pleasure to welcome FERM Power Tools World Rally Team into the M-Sport family and the WRC for 2011," Wilson said, "Dennis produced a series of consistently strong results in the Ford Fiesta S2000 in 2010 and showed considerable progression throughout the year. He was a joy to work with last year and I look forward to working with him and the new team for what promises to be a successful season."

Kuipers, who made his WRC debut in 2010, is no stranger to M-Sport, with the 25-year old producing a series of strong results, including a ninth place on the Rally of Turkey en route to becoming the first Dutchman ever to score WRC driver points.

"I'm very happy to join the FERM Power Tools World Rally Team for 2011," Kuipers commented, "2010 was a very educational year and we had some good results with the Ford Fiesta S2000. I feel that the experience we gained with the Fiesta S2000 was excellent preparation for driving the new Ford Fiesta RS WRC. I'm really looking forward to next year."
