Petter Solberg will compete in Sweden

Petter Solberg will compete in Sweden in a Citroen DS3 WRC car.

Petter Solberg looks set to remain in the World Rally Championship in 2011, after he submitted a late entry for Rally Sweden, the opening round of the season.

The Norwegian is again sticking with Citroen and like factory drivers Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, he will use the new Citroen DS3 WRC car. 'Hollywood' is renting it from the French manufacturer, in the same way as Kimi Raikkonen is [see separate story – click here].

A spokesperson for the Petter Solberg World Rally Team told Crash.net: "I cannot officially confirm anything as there are still details that have to be sorted. But we will have a DS3 and we will be in Sweden."

Solberg had been tipped to switch to the World Touring Car Championship recently by Autosport, but now it appears he might remain in the World Rally Championship after all.
