A new record cumulative reach of 14 million different viewers, an increase of two million from 2010, watched Eurosport's coverage of the centenary edition of Rallye Monte Carlo, event promoter Eurosport Events has revealed.

The event, which opened the IRC for a third successive season, featured extensive live coverage on Eurosport and Eurosport 2 totalling twelve hours. The cumulative reach achieved was a 16.5 per cent rise over the figure recorded in 2010 when 12 million fans tuned in to watch the groundbreaking coverage.

Among the highlights of the coverage were the dramatic seventh and eighth stages on day two of the rally, when a freak snowfall transformed the leaderboard. Eurosport Events also produced a daily highlights programme and a series of 15 short programmes celebrating the 100 years history of the event, called 'I Love Monte Carlo', which were broadcast on Eurosport.
