Raikkonen ready for WRC return

Kimi Raikkonen to return to the WRC for the third round of the season in Portugal
Kimi Raikkonen will make his return to the World Rally Championship this weekend in Portugal having missed the second round of the year in Mexico.

The former F1 champion finished eighth on the season opener in Sweden but the trip to Mexico wasn't part of the schedule in place for the Finn this season.

While that meant he missed the opening gravel event of the year, Raikkonen has tested his Ice 1 Racing Citroen DS3 WRC in the gap following the Swedish round in February and he sid he was keen to keep learning when he tackles the Portugese stages this weekend.

“We made a good start to the championship in the Swedish Rally,” he said. “We were closer to the leaders than last year. But we're still learning.

“Since then we've taken part in a test day to get to grips with the car on gravel. It feels good and I can't wait to be at the start of the Portuguese Rally.”
