Loeb retires from Rally GB

Sebastien Loeb forced out in Wales.

Sebastien Loeb has retired from Wales Rally GB this morning following an accident on the road section after Halfway 1.

According to early reports he was involved in a head-on collision with a spectators' car driving on the wrong side of the road. Although no one was injured in the incident, the Frenchman was unable to continue.

Loeb had been running second overall, 7.5 seconds behind Jari-Matti Latvala, following SS18, the first test of the day. His demise leaves Latvala way out front, almost three minutes up on Mads Ostberg, who in turn is a similar amount up on Henning Solberg in third. Brits Kris Meeke and Matthew Wilson complete the top five.
