Citroen has revealed that Olivier Quesnel is to be replaced as team principal for the 2012 World Rally Championship season.

Quesnel, who will remain director of Peugeot Sport, has now left the role and will be replaced by Yves Matton - who previously held the role of team manager and head of client competition service.

Matton will report directly to Citroen's general manager Frederic Banzet.

"I would like to thank Olivier Quesnel for the job he's done in his four years as Citroen Racing Team Principal," Banzet said. "Under his management, Citroen has won the Manufacturers' and Drivers' and Co-Drivers' Championship titles every year with Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena.

"Yves Matton's task will be to maintain Citroen Racing's high level of excellence."

As well as retaining his role as technical director, Xavier Mestelan Pinon has been named as deputy team principal.
