Hunt confirms IRC programme

Harry Hunt to compete in the IRC in 2012
Harry Hunt has confirmed that he will contest the full Intercontinental Rally Challenge during the 2012 season having secured the two-wheel driver class honours in the PWRC last year.

The 23-year-old will also compete in selected events in Italy and France as part of his racing activities at the wheel of a Citroen DS3 R3T – with five rallies planned alongside the 13 that make up the IRC schedule.

“This year is all about consolidation for me,” Hunt said. “My aim is to take on board all the lessons from 2011, when we started with a new and complex car and some new events, and put them to the best possible use in 2012. We took a really huge step up in 2011 and it took a while to learn how to get the best from the Citroen, especially when so many of the events were unfamiliar to us.

“With a second season in the car, coming back to some of the rallies we know plus also learning new events against strong local opposition, we should be able to get closer to the limit of our potential.”

Hunt will once again be run by the iCars Motorsport team.

What a gimp. I know people give out about Matthew Wilson, but this one is worse. Fair enough, he's the 2010 IRC 2WD Champion and the 2011 PWRC 2WD Champion, but that's only because he had no competition. He should just quit rallying. I've never come across one person who likes him. Useless.
