Sordo to restart

Broken alternator lead halts Dani Sordo.

Prodrive WRC Team driver Dani Sordo will re-start under the Rally 2 regulations today in Portugal.

Sordo was forced to park his MINI John Cooper Works WRC car following the first proper stage last night, when a lead to his alternator broke. This automatically cut power to the lights and the Spaniard had no choice but to sit out SS3 and SS4. He ended the day classified in 43rd position.

Patrik Sandell meanwhile had a more encouraging start in the sister car and he finished just outside the points in P11.
