PS Engineering has signed Kristian Sohlberg to compete in a Ford Fiesta S2000 on two events in the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
Together with co-driver Peter Flythström, Sohlberg will compete in the Rally San Marino and Rally Romania in a PS Engineering owned car in what he hopes will be the start of a long-term relationship.
“This is a great chance for me,” the 34-year-old said. “This is all made possible with the support of my sponsors and Petter Solberg Engineering. I do hope this is the start on a long-term relationship and I am looking forward to work with a professional team and hopefully do more together in the future.
“I had the chance to test the Ford Fiesta last week, and I felt really comfortable in the car from the beginning.”
Ford WRC ace Solberg welcomed Sohlberg into the team as its second driver, with a programme already announced with Patrik Flodin for the season ahead.
“Kristian is a talented and also experienced driver, so I am very pleased that we are able to support him in his return in rallying,” he said. “For the moment we have agreed on two events in the IRC series, but hopefully there will be more to come.”
