STOP PRESS: Loeb wins in New Zealand

Citroen's Sebastien Loeb wins Rally New Zealand, 29.6 seconds up on his team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen; Petter Solberg completes the podium.

Citroen's Sebastien Loeb has won Rally New Zealand today to further extend his lead at the top of the 2012 World Rally Championship.

Loeb seized the lead from team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen in the final test on Friday and while the battle continued on Saturday, the Frenchman finished the leg 6.4 seconds ahead. After that Citroen instructed both drivers' to hold position and on the final day today they held on to take another one-two - the third in succession.

Petter Solberg meanwhile took third for Ford, albeit more than a minute off P2, after opting for the wrong tyres on Friday morning.

Evgney Novikov was fourth for the M-Sport Ford team, ahead of Thierry Neuville and Prodrive MINI man, Dani Sordo.

Jari-Matti Latvala came in seventh, after losing over four minutes on Friday afternoon when he went off in SS7. He took the Power Stage win, but that was scant consolation.

Armindo Araujo, Ken Block and Manfred Stohl completed the points' scorers in positions 8 through to 10.

Ott Tanak was the most notable retirement, rolling out in SS20 on the final day. He had been running in fifth.
