Gronholm continues recovery from X-Games shunt

Further tests have revealed the extent of Marcus Gronholm's X-Games injuries.
Doctors treating WRC ace Marcus Gronholm in Los Angeles have revealed that the Finnish veteran will require an extended stay at the city's medical facility after suffering minor injuries in his X-Games crash at the weekend.

Despite reporting that, after two days of medical attention and rest, Gronholm was alert, talking and making good progress, doctors also confirmed that a full body scan and related tests showed that, while he has full limb mobility, he also suffered an unspecified 'bone compression' which will require treatment.

With Gronholm also unconscious for a period following his unscheduled meeting with an exposed concrete post at the rallycross site, the medical teams will also focus on monitoring for any repercussions from that. Other injuries the former WRC champion sustained in the incident have already started to improve since his admittance, but Gronholm will remain in hospital for the time being in order to continue his recuperation.

two near miss'es this weekend i love the x-games but both then accidents were avoidable and Gronholm's was disgusting speed does not kill people but massive deceleration does you wouldn't find barrier's protruding like that in late 80's f1 we have lost too many great sportsmen in the past 2 year's its good that there's a danger to the sport but that does not open the doors for stupidity to roam free
