Nasser Al-Attiyah's off on Rallye de France Alsace this morning has left two fans with broken limbs, Citroen has confirmed.

A brief statement issued on Twitter by the French manufacturer read: "Two spectators were injured when Al-Attiyah went off [in SS10]. Doctors report one broken leg and one broken arm. Nasser feels very sorry for them."

The Qatari had been running eleventh overall in his Citroen DS3 WRC car prior to the accident, 12.8 seconds behind Chris Atkinson in P10.

However in long 43.45 km Pays d'Ormont test, he crashed in the first third of the stage in the area of Raids de Robache. Al-Attiyah and co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini both escaped unharmed.

It is not yet known if they will be able to re-start on Sunday under the Rally 2 regulations.
