Bouffier set for Monte Carlo outing

28 December 2012

Bryan Bouffier is set to contest the opening round of the new World Rally Championship season in Monte Carlo next month at the wheel of a Citroen DS3 WRC.

Bouffier, who won the event in 2011 when it was part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, will compete in a latest generation WRC machine for the first time, with his car being run by PH Sport.

The 34-year-old is still working to finalise his budget for the event but said there was 'no doubt' he would be able to take his place in the field for the first round of the 2013 campaign.

“Thanks to the support of a lot of companies I have this fantastic opportunity to do this great race and I will be there, there is no chance I won't be,” he told the official WRC website. “There is still some money to get but I am working hard to get this.

“It is a fantastic project. My target is to be at the finish with some good stage times. If the weather is dry I think it will be difficult to do more than this because the entry is very strong. But if the weather is changing then you don't know what can happen.”
